**Frequently Asked Questions**
"Is there an age limit to participate?"
All ages are welcome, this is a family event! Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a minor liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in-person.
"What will happen if it rains?"
Our team will be sure to keep a close eye on the weather during the week before the event. Light rain will not change much but lightning in the area will delay the time we start the cleanup. Be sure to check the Facebook page to find updates on bad weather and time changes.
"Do I need to bring anything?"
Our team will provide the items you can borrow to clean the beach which include a hemp collection sack and a pair of gloves. Please be sure to bring a (filled) reusable water bottle and sunscreen/a hat. We will have coolers of water for you to refill. Closed-toe shoes are recommended if you would like to help us sort the manmade materials from the recyclables.
"Can I receive volunteer/community service hours?"
Yes! At the end of the event or when you leave, please visit the Check-In Tent to have the 4ocean Volunteer Hours form (or one from your school/organization) filled out by the Volunteer Coordinator. A maximum of 2 hours is available for this event.
"What should I wear? Will I get dirty?"
A shirt and shorts will be suitable for this event, depending on how chilly it is. Sunscreen too, if you have sensitive skin. Closed-toed shoes are not required but they are recommended if you would like to help sort the manmade materials from the recyclables at the end of the cleanup.
Which items will be for sale at the Pop-up Shop?
We will have 4ocean hats ($15), 4ocean water bottles ($30), 4ocean t-shirts ($20) and all of the 2018 limited edition bracelets ($20) for sale! Debit and credit cards are the only accepted form of payment.
