Miami Beach FC 2004 Boys Hosts Coastal Clean-up
Come join the soccer team of Miami Beach FC 2004 Boys in cleaning up the beach at 8301 Collins Avenue. We will set up check-in the Pavilion in the park or entrance to the beach. Please bring waiver or we will have some available to sign. Students will be able to receive community service hours for trash collected.
We will provide gloves and trash bags.
Here is a short list of recommended items to bring for your clean-up:
- Closed toes shoes or water shoes that can get wet or dirty for shoreline cleanups.
- Water in a reusable container. Let's try to reduce plastic waste, when possible.
- Reusable Work/dishwashing gloves (available at grocery/hardware store)
- Trash bags (often provided by your host)
Safety First - Liability Disclaimer:
*Your cleanup host may require you to sign a liability waiver. Please check with them (contact info above) on what is required. *
As a reminder, when you RSVP'd you agreed to our Terms of Service which you can review here: https://www.volunteercleanup.org/terms_of_service
You are volunteering to pick up trash and garbage, which can be risky. There can absolutely be sharp items such as broken glass, hypodermic needles, metal with sharp edges, wood with nails, etc. You may be climbing on rocks, or working in areas that have holes covered by grass. You are responsible for your own actions and safety, and neither VolunteerCleanup.Org, Miami Dade Coastal Cleanup, Inc., nor the host of this event is liable for any accidents. We REALLY want you to be safe and practice common sense. Always wear appropriate closed toes shoes with good traction, gloves to protect your hands, and sunscreen to prevent sun burn. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. I like to work in pairs and if you aren’t sure about something, ask for another opinion or assistance. If you are bringing kids, teens, or young adults, take the time to educate them on proper safety and lead by example. We want you to stay safe!
