Matheson Hammock Beach Clean Up

Hi.

We are students wanting to organize a beach pickup at Matheson Hammock Beach where we like to swim, play, and enjoy seeing the wildlife. Unfortunately, we still see trash thrown around and washed up from the ocean. If you want to join us, we will be picking up for an hour from 5 to 6 PM this Thursday at the beach part of the park (Keep taking the winding road to the far end and past the marina). We will have trash bags. You may want to bring gloves and anything you want to use to pick up the trash. 

There usually is a fee to park. We spoke to the park and may be able to get this waived for anyone who comes for the beach cleanup. But we can't be sure so just be prepared to pay a few dollars if so. They also have the option to use the Pay-By-Phone app if you do have to pay. But just let the guard know at the booth that you are with our group. 

Anyone who is under 18 needs to complete an affidavit and drop it off at the park office before 4:30 or email the signed copy. You can call the office at (305) 665-5475 to get it or have it emailed to you. You can contact me for a copy, too.
