Museum of Discovery & Science - Beach Cleanup sponsored by The Extra Catch

Marine debris is a growing problem affecting our coastal ecosystems, especially for the plants and animals that live in them. Join MODS for a special post-Spring Break beach cleanup at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park.

Volunteers will learn about our environmental initiatives and how to be a part of them. The clean-up is appropriate for all ages but recommended for children 8 years old and older. All children 16 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Volunteers will meet at the Jetty Pavilion at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (6503 N Ocean Dr, Dania Beach, FL 33004). Park entrance fees will be waived for participants. All volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, closed-toe shoes, as well as appropriate clothing for the beach and weather. Water and cleaning supplies will be provided but volunteers are welcome to bring their own equipment.
