K.I.D.S. 2nd Annual SoBe Clean Up
Join us in doing our part to help clean and protect our marine life at the 2nd Annual K.I.D.S. SoBe Cleanup. Participants should meet in the parking lot located on 20th and ocean drive at 11pm and will be escorted by host to the beach for a quick introduction and safety briefing. We will then travel by feet (so wear comfortable shoes) down the shore line to 10th street beach in which we’ll be conducting the clean-up. We will gather our collection and take group photos on 10th street, Participants can expect to be done by 1pm. After there will be a beach set up including chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas provided by Boucher Brothers so you can enjoy the rest of your day curtesy of us for your efforts.
WHAT TO WEAR: Volunteers should wear a bathing suit and clothes that can get wet and dirty. Lightweight and long sleeves/pants are best to provide protection from the sun and bugs. Old sneakers, or any other durable closed-toe footwear are required (no open-toe shoes are allowed). Hat and sunglasses are recommended.
WHAT TO BRING: light snacks and reusable cup/flask water will be provided. Although not necessary, a towel may be useful.
WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE: Coolers for food and drink storage, a large water jug for re-filling your beverage container, sunscreen, bug spray, hand sanitizer, and all work-related gear (such as protective gloves, trash bags etc.).
*Participants must be 14 years of age or older.
*All volunteers must provide a signed waiver, which can be done beforehand or during the morning orientation meeting. Participants under the age of 18 must provide a waiver signed by parent/guardian in order to participate.
*Group size must be between 5 and 8 people. We may cancel or reschedule an event due to low participant turnout or unsafe weather conditions. We will confirm a go or no-go via email by 5pm the evening before the scheduled cleanup.
*Participants must wear face coverings over the nose and mouth at all times and follow 6-ft social distancing guidelines, whenever possible. Hand sanitizer will be provided and should be used often. Please remain home if not feeling well.
