R Hardy Mangrove Forest Cleanup
Come help clean up along the ocean and a mangrove forest! It is environmentally endangered land and also an archeological zone. This place really needs your help. Plastic gets wrapped around the tree roots and winds up killing the mangroves, which are a critical habitat. Please park near the fire station and walk across the bridge (heading north on old cutler) to get to the park entrance. We will meet just inside the gate at 9 am. Please bring gloves and possibly scissors or a knife to cut the plastic off the mangroves. Plastic bags will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes, walking sneakers, and remember to protect yourself from the sun! We will walk about 3/4 of a mile to get to where most of the garbage is. You do not have to carry the garbage back with you. Please come help protect this beautiful place that does so much to keep us and our environment healthy!!!
