Bill Bagg's Sustainability Team
Welcome to the Bill Bagg's Sustainability Team! I started this group to promote sustainability and the conservation of natural resources. Every year, nearly 1 million visitors pass through Bill Bagg's State Park. Their trash is simply thrown out; I intend to change this. By sorting through the disposables collected by the park employees, we will ensure that no recyclables end up in the landfill. At the end of the shift, I will tell you your exact impact in terms of: CO2 saved, kWh of electricity saved, gallons of oil saved, BTU's of energy saved, and landfill space saved all through what we have recycled. I will provide: gloves, water, sunscreen, bug spray, and there is a break room we can use for the bathroom or breaks. This is not a beach clean up- this is sorting through disposables and recycling all aluminum cans, glass bottles, and plastic bottles. Sometimes, helping the environment can get pretty dirty. We can give volunteer hours if needed. ** As long as we have enough volunteers, we will meet every single Saturday and Sunday!
