Adelyn's Miztvah Beach Cleanup

Please join Adelyn Harvey for the beginning of her Mitzvah Project! This beach cleanup will be the first step in a series of actions she is taking to ensure healthy beaches and oceans in Florida.

On Saturday, March 2nd,  VolunteerCleanup.org will be leading a group of Adelyn's friends and family in a beach cleanup as part of the Broward Waterway Cleanup, a county-wide cleanup at various locations. We will be participating at the Mizel-Eula State Park location.

Volunteers should RSVP here on this page to participate as part of Adelyn's group with VolunteerCleanup.org

Each participant must sign the WATERWAY CLEANUP WAIVERClick here to download the form and bring with you.

On the morning of the cleanup, you will first turn in the form at the main check-in location for the big event at the MARINA, and then come meet our group at the SeaGrape Pavillion further down the road. Keep in mind that this is a large event, with several hundred volunteers at the State Park. But we have our own dedicated location within the park, at the Sea Grape Pavillion-- so that's why you turn in your paperwork first and the central check-in for all volunteers and then head to our spot!

** VolunteerCleanup.org will provide all supplies for our group for the cleanup (gloves, buckets, garbage bags, pickers, sunscreen, water, hand sanitizer etc) and a water cooler for filtered cold water refills. We will also provide community service hours. You do not need to get any supplies from the main check-in, just drop your waiver :)

Volunteers Should:

  • Dress for the weather and wear shoes that you are comfortable walking on the beach in. We suggest closed-toed shoes like sneakers or water shoes.  Hat and sunglasses are also recommended for a hot and sunny day.
  • Please bring water in a reusable bottle so we can reduce plastic waste where possible. We will provide water coolers for cold water refills but will not be providing bottled water.
  • Download the Clean Swell App from your app store to participate in the Citizen Science Data Logging. You will work in teams of 2-3ppl. Paper Data cards will be provided for those without a smartphone device.
