Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park - International Coastal Cleanup
All entry fees for participants will be waived. We will be meeting at shelter A-9 and dispersing to clean the beach, dunes, sea wall, harbor, and picnic areas and parking lots of our heavily visited State Park. We will be recording the types and amount of trash on data cards, as part of this world wide activity and experiment.
Please bring along a water bottle, snacks and some insect repellent just in case. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. Three picnic shelters will be reserved all day long for your enjoyment following the cleanup.
Everyone that participates must RSVP below--even if you are coming together. We must have your name on the RSVP list as an individual (or your parent) in order for you to get the giveaway backpack.
There will be an after-party at the Virginia Key Outdoor Center, more details to follow soon.
Last year 17,000 pounds of trash was collected at the 40 sites in Miami Dade County participating in Coastal Cleanup.
Thanks for helping us out, and participating in the data collection for this decades old experiment.
