NEWS STORY Cleanup at Albert Pallot Park (36th and US1)
AMAZING OPPORTUNITY - Al Jazeera is doing a video follow-up on a fabulous article they did last week about our cities inability to regulate plastic bags. They want us to show them the problem and what individuals are doing to try to address it. The 3 minute expose will include interviews putting State Senators on the spot. WE NEED YOUR HELP !!! SurfRider + VolunteerCleanup.Org need to provide the visuals - thus a cleanup during the week.
- cameras will be there at 4:30 doing the prep work. Cleanup starts at 4:45 sharp on Tuesday. End time is 7pm max.
- high tide is 5:45, so we should have closed toed water shoes or sneakers that can get wet. Bags and pickers provided.
- If anyone wants to bring their kayak or standup paddleboard, bring it on.
- They will be doing interviews of anyone who has something to day. This is not a requirement, but if you have something to say on camera, rehearse your short message around why we need the ability to ban plastic bags. You can also speak to single use plastics.
