Styrofoam Ban Public Hearing in Miami Beach
July 23rd is a monumental day for the City of Miami Beach and the State of Florida. The commission will make their final decision on restricting the usage of polystyrene foam in Miami Beach. When this passes we will be the first city in Florida to take a stance and pass legislation restricting this dangerous product. For those of you who have joined me on the dozens of clean ups over the last few months the theme is current. Styrofoam is everywhere in our waters and extremely messy. In addition to leaking dangerous chemicals it doesn't biodegrade. I'm asking that everyone please join me at this meeting to show that people do care about pollution and protecting our marine life. Be a part of history and join us for this monumental vote. Please be on time for 9:45am in the commission chambers. The item will be heard shortly after.
