HVKBP Sustain-a-beach 2018 at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park

Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in conjunction with Debris Free Oceans first Sustain-a-beach is an advocacy campaign for the sustainable practices not just only on keeping the Historic Beach clean but also to instill a sustainable culture into daily lives in the Miami community.

There will be a few speakers talking about sustainable methods to improve beaches as well as ways that anyone can make a difference.

SPEAKERS:

  • Volunteer Cleanup.org- Microplastics and their effect on the beach
  • Manny Rionda (Fill a Bag)- the Fill a bag project
  • Debris Free Oceans- Ways to preserve a beach and the coastal dune ecosystem.
  • Charlie Weyman (Historic Virginia Key Beach Park)- Simple and Sustainable methods one can adopt in their own home.

 *Beer from Concrete Beach and Wynwood Brewing will be served to participants of the legal age of 21 or over.

This event is 21+ only (Photo ID required)

This event is BYOC or bring your own container. We don't want to add to the mess!

Closed toed shoes and Santa Hats are HIGHLY recommended.
