Terminal Island CleanUp with Dan Gelber for Miami Beach Mayor
The Dan Gelber for Miami Beach Mayor campaign is hosting a Waterway Cleanup near Terminal Island on Saturday, August 26, from 9-11am. All are welcome to join us to help keep Miami Beach clean by picking up litter and trash in an area where debris often washes ashore. Dan cares deeply about protecting the environment and preserving our Community, and we hope that you can make it out on Saturday 8/26 to help us do just that. You can also learn more about Dan at dangelber.com
Water will be provided for all volunteers. We advise wearing comfortable, close-toed shoes and clothing for a morning in the sun cleaning up a busy waterway in our community. We ask that adults bringing children under the age of 10 have at least 1 adult present to supervise each child.
Parking is also very limited at Terminal Island. We advise using public transportation or ride-sharing, or carpooling and parking in the parking garage at 5th Street and Alton Road on Miami Beach, then walking to Terminal Island (a distance of 0.5 miles) using the pedestrian walkway on the MacArthur Causeway. We will meet at 9am at the main entrance of Terminal Island, located on the 5th Street Causeway, also known as the MacArthur Causeway.
International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day is September 16, and we will be recording the data from our CleanUp to count towards the final ICC tally for Miami-Dade.
