Surfrider Beach Clean Up & Hands Across The Sand
The morning kicks-off with a beach cleanup at 9:00 Am followed by the Hands Across the Sand Event
Say YES to Clean, Renewable Energy!
Say NO to Dirty Fossil Fuels and Seismic Airgun Blasting
We have never been closer to having our ocean blasted and drilled for oil. At 12 noon on May 18th, people on beaches all over the nation will be joining hands in solidarity against seismic airgun blasting and offshore drilling in the Atlantic.
Join Oceana (usa.oceana.org), the Urban Paradise Guild (http://urbanparadiseguild.org), Surfrider Foundation Miami (Miami.surfrider.org) & our community partners for this important annual event!
Where we stake our claim to our precious ocean by taking a stand on the sand.

We expect to get some incredible drone footage of the #DrillingisKilling Paddle Out. Enjoy the beach & leave only your footprints. Everyone is responsible for their own safety during the paddle out, so please bring leashes and be mindful of weather and water conditions. We strongly encourage carpooling! Please do not bring single-use plastics to this event (cups, straws, bottles, etc). Some reusable signs will be on loan for this event, so stop by the tents if you’d like to hold a sign.
Volunteers: We need volunteers to serve as beach organizers. If you are interested, go to the Oceana tent for a free t shirt or tank, and instructions. The Beach Organizers Method has made Miami the biggest Hands on Earth many years. Please see the UPG Training Video: https://urbanparadiseguild.org/hands/
Bring a refillable water bottle, as this is a single use plastic free event. This cleanup is optional. If you’re just coming for the Hands Across the Sand event, you can arrive at 11 am.
Location: Miami Beach at 5th Street
