International Coastal Cleanup Day | Miami Beach North Shore Open Space Park (79th-87th)

Thanks for volunteering to clean up the North Shore Open Space Park during the International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 19th.  The U.S. Life-Saving Service established the Biscayne House of Refuge here in 1876.

Where:  Our group will be meeting at the Open Space Park in Miami Beach.  The main entrance to the park is at 81st Street and Collins Avenue.  As you enter, follow the sidewalk off to the right and you'll see our banner at the pavilion.  If you enter the park from another entrance, our pavilion is between 80th and 81st Street.

When:  We will start with a brief at 9:00 am and plan to wrap up by 12:00 noon.  Please arrive a few minutes early (by 8:45) so we can get everyone registered and assigned to groups.

Parking:  There is ample parking in several parking lots across from the park.  Parking will be approximately $1.00/hour using the pay and display kiosks.

Volunteers should bring:

  • Appropriate closed toes shoes or water shoes and comfortable clothes

  • Sunscreen and hat are highly recommended

  • Water in a reusable container (please don’t  create more waste and bring plastic water bottles to clean up plastic water bottles!
  • Snacks

***** All volunteers must fill out the Volunteer Release form ***** Download, print, sign and bring with you!

*  International Coastal Cleanup will provide garbage bags and data collection cards.
