Dive Against Debris- Shark Week
*YOU MUST REGISTER WITH SOUTH BEACH DIVERS TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT
Join us for a two-tank reef cleanup just offshore of Miami Beach, in collaboration with Project AWARE and Debris Free Oceans. We will be diving two reefs off of Miami Beach while safely removing any marine debris we may find.
Cleanup supplies (gloves, mesh bags and shears) will be provided by Debris Free Oceans, and all scuba gear is available for rent at the dive shop.
After each dive, we will record data about the marine debris that we collect, and submit this data to Project AWARE and Southeast Florida Action Network (FDEP) for future use by researchers and policy-makers.
Visit the link provided to book your trip today! Just go to July 3 on the calendar and click "Book Trip". You must be open-water certified and have dove in the last 12 months.
This event is a part of South Beach Dive and Surf Center's Shark Week, a week of epic dive trips and cleanup events that are inspired by and help to support shark conservation. These events include shark snorkeling and diving trips, a Dive Against Debris reef cleanup, and a trip to the Bimini Shark Lab!
All week, raffle tickets will be sold whose proceeds will benefit Debris Free Oceans and Project AWARE. They cost $5 each or you can purchase 4 for $20; each ticket gives you a chance to win one of the raffle items which include a MARES regulator and dive computer, Costa sunglasses, a Waterlust giftcard, Liberty Bottleworks growlers, DAKINE gear, and more (full raffle item list coming soon)! You can purchase a ticket at any of the Shark Week events or online here: https://debrisfreeoceans.org/product/shark-week-raffle-tickets.
Raffle winners will be announced at the final Shark Week event, the Shark Week Keg n' Klean!
