SCUBA Cleanup - South Beach Divers

NOTE: reservation with the dive shop South Beach DiversĀ required
Join us for a two-tank reef cleanup off of Miami Beach on Saturday, February 23rd! All you need is your open-water diver certification, and you must have been diving at least once in the last year. All cleanup supplies will be provided including bags, gloves and snips, by Debris Free Oceans.

We will meet at South Beach Dive and Surf Shop at 12pm to fill out paperwork and assemble the gear. Then we will head to the boat for a safe-handling workshop by Debris Free Oceans, and learn about how to safely remove debris from the reef.

The dive will include 2 different sites along the Florida Reef Tract and we encourage our divers to pick up any debris that is safe to remove.

On our way back to shore, we will collect data about our debris findings to submit to Project AWARE Foundation and Southeast Florida Action Network. This data will be used by researchers to better understand the distribution and transport of marine debris, and will ultimately be used to inform policy-makers and guide site selection for future cleanups. We should be back to shore around 5pm.

This is not a guided dive. If you'd like a personal guide please request one when making your reservation.

Come help clean our beautiful reefs and contribute to marine debris research! To make a reservation simply visit the link provided or call us at 305-531-6110 and save 5%!
