Miami Beach Earth Day Cleanup

Please join VolunteerCleanup.org, Miami Swim Week, and the City of Miami Beach for a special Earth Day Beach Cleanup as part of this month's Rethink event.

VolunteerCleanup.org will provide all supplies needed for the cleanup (gloves, bags, buckets, pickers, sunscreen) Community service hours provide to students who need them!

We will be cleaning the beach, learning about marine debris, participating in a citizen science activity and having contests and prizes from Miami Swim Week for strangest item, most trash, and more.

Meet in Lummus Park, at 12th/Ocean Drive. Find us by the Rethink stage.

Volunteers Should:

  • Bring a face mask. All CDC guidelines for COVID safety will be in effect
  • Bring water in a reusable bottle (will have a cooler with filtered water refills)
  • Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking on the beach
  • Download the Clean Swell app for Citizen Science Data collection
  • Complete the online waiver in advance to expedite check-in

After the cleanup (11am-1pm) the festivities continue 1pm-4pm. The April RETHINK MB weekend features (but not limited to) – Jack & Jill Yoga, Cortadito, Plan(T) by Xavier Cortada, and Bucket Drumming with Ray Robinson.

About RETHINK

The City of Miami Beach has created a community event series in Lummus Park RETHINK MB.  RETHINK MB involves the curation of five events (January 2021 through June 2021). Featuring engaging and refreshing activities to open the mind and invigorate the body, these free, family-friendly programs are driven by community leaders and trailblazers. RETHINK MB provides a platform, and a voice to authentically (re)think the way we live, play, create and experience life (resolution, discovery, reflection, movement, and transcendence).
