South Pointe Park Jetty - South Beach

The picture above is a sample of just 1.5 hours of cleaning the Jetty on 3/29/14. There is probably 20 times the amount of this still there. It's going to make a massive group effort. There are several reasons why there is so much trash there. The first is that people go on the rocks and leave their trash. There are no trash or recycling bins along the rocks. The 2nd reason is trash comes in from the tides. We've done several clean ups in here but and it's a constant battle but we need a large group to really make huge progress. The ultimate goal is to get this area relatively clean and to have the city install a few trash and recycling bins bolted down to the rocks. We look forward to seeing everyone.

The area we are meeting in is where the beach meets the rocks (The Jetty) at the South East point of South Pointe Park.
