We will meet up at the 81st pavilion at the 81st entrance on Collins Avenue in-between the volley ball nets and dog park.
Have being born and raised in Miami I'm no stranger to the beach and have always been fascinated with the ocean. After completing High School and receiving my Scuba License, I went on to college to study the only passion i had ever known..my love for the ocean. Marine Biology opened my eyes to the study of the ocean and its inhabitants and deeper and deeper my heart fell for the blue world. Snorkeling is a hobby of mine that I took back up this summer and I was extremely disappointed to have found SO MUCH TRASH UNDERWATER!! In my own neighborhood. Miami is known for its wild party goers and mass swarms of tourists invading the beaches to get a taste of our South Florida paradise. But the worst part is that the mess left on North Beach are not being made my these groups of people but LOCAL FAMILIES in the area. North Beach is definitely NOT South Beach... that means we don't have hundreds of drunk college kids and rich foreigners partying it up on our side of the sand. But instead hundred of families every weekend usually enjoying birthday's, gatherings, and events on the recreational park grounds. My mission is to spread the knowledge I have gathered through out the years in the field of biology to locals, families, and travelers beach lovers or not. This includes many threats trash poses when left on the beach and how to keep our beaches free from pollution. I aim to spread awareness not only in my city but to beach city all around the world. And gain a more compassionate relationship between the planet and society. Surely but slowly love in numbers has the power to better the earth for all life to thrive for generations to come.
At this clean-up we will have a 30 minuet informative class that will give you a greater understanding of the effects from ocean pollution.
