Clean Up & Friendgiving Potluck @ Virginia Key Outdoor Center
We will be taking a short hike to North Point Beach, where much of the debris that gets washed up on the shore is from the neighboring port, Fisher Island, and passing boat traffic. We have found things such as propellers, coolers, buoys, and even animal bones. Please note that there is a festival happening this weekend nearby - follow these driving directions to get here easily: www.VKOC.net/directions
Bags and Gloves will be supplied to Volunteers. Once we are done with the Clean Up we will return to VKOC to weigh and record all debris found!
After the Clean Up, we will set up on the Picnic Benches and share some yummy Thanksgiving Left Overs. Volunteers are encouraged to bring dishes to share. We ask that Volunteers bring their own cutlery in order to reduce waste. Paper plates and cups will be available. This event is 100% outdoors and family friendly.
VKOC VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION PROGRAM - Earn Community Service Hours
